What Comics Are We Looking For?
Not every comic collection is the same, and not every collection is a good fit for Twilight Comics.
This page is meant to give you a general idea of the kinds of comics and related items we are most likely to consider. It is not a guarantee that we will buy a collection, and it is not a price guide. It is simply a starting point.

Comic Collections
We regularly consider comic collections of many sizes, from a small box of comics to larger collections with multiple long boxes.
Collections are usually more useful to us when they are organized, protected, or have been stored carefully, but you do not need to fully sort everything before contacting us.
Clear photos and an approximate quantity are usually enough to help us decide whether the collection may be worth a closer look.
Older Comics
Older comics are often more likely to contain material we can use, especially comics from the Golden Age, Silver Age, and Bronze Age.
That does not mean every older comic is valuable, and it does not mean newer comics have no value. Age is only one factor. Condition, demand, character, issue number, and whether the book is complete all matter.
If you have older comics and are not sure what era they are from, do not worry. Photos can help us identify what you have.
Key Issues
Key issues may include first appearances, origin stories, major character changes, important deaths, major storyline chapters, popular covers, or books connected to characters with strong collector demand.
If you believe you have key issues, please include photos of those books when you complete the form.
Complete or Nearly Complete Runs
Complete or nearly complete runs can be useful, especially when they involve popular characters, major publishers, classic storylines, or books that customers regularly ask about.
Random single issues can still be useful, but a complete run is often easier for readers and collectors to understand.
Graphic Novels and Trade Paperbacks
We may also consider graphic novels and trade paperbacks, especially if they are in good condition and are titles that readers are likely to want.
Superhero graphic novels, all-ages books, manga, classic stories, and popular creator-owned titles may all be worth mentioning when you contact us.
Unslabbed and Graded Comics
We consider both unslabbed comics and professionally graded comics.
Graded comics can be easier to evaluate because the condition has already been professionally assigned. Unslabbed comics can still be very desirable, especially when they are older, significant, or in strong condition.
Modern Comics
Modern comics can be useful, but they vary widely.
Some modern comics have strong demand because of first appearances, lower print runs, variants, popular characters, or current collector interest. Others were printed in large quantities and may be very common.
If your collection is mostly modern comics, photos of a sample group are usually more helpful than a full typed list.
Comics That May Be Harder for Us to Buy
Some comics are harder for us to purchase, even if they were enjoyed by the original owner.
These may include:
- Water-damaged comics
- Comics with mold or strong odors
- Comics with missing pages or cut-out coupons
- Heavily damaged common comics
- Large quantities of duplicate common issues
- Very common modern comics with limited demand
- Material that is not suitable for resale
Condition problems do not always make a comic worthless, especially if the book is older or important. But damage can greatly affect whether a collection is something we can buy.
What Photos Should You Send?
You do not need professional photos. A few clear pictures are usually enough to start.
The most helpful photos usually include:
- A picture of the full collection or storage area
- Photos of the boxes, shelves, totes, or long boxes
- A small sample of comic covers
- Photos of any older or unusual-looking books
- Photos of any comics you believe may be important
Clear photos are often more useful than a long typed list, especially at the beginning of the process.
Not Sure If Your Comics Are What We Want?
That is completely normal.
Many people who contact us are not collectors themselves. They may have inherited comics, found boxes in storage, or decided it is time to clear space. You do not need to know exactly what you have before reaching out.
