A Little Chaos Never Hurt Anyone… Right?

 

If you’ve been a part of our Twilight Comics community for any length of time, you may have noticed I have a slight predilection for overly complicated sales gimmicks. One too many spreadsheets. Too many “just-for-fun” rules. Maybe a little too much joy derived from seeing people try to navigate the labyrinth of “buy 2 of this, get 1 of that, unless it’s Tuesday” kind of nonsense.

 

This year, the Chaos Sale-A-Day Calendar was my way of not doing that. The goal was simple: make each day interesting, compelling, and valuable without requiring customers to carry around a flowchart. For the most part, I stuck to that. But I allowed myself one indulgence.

 

The Duckelgangers.

 

Adopt-a-Duck is this year’s one nostalgic nod to my unnecessarily layered sales structures. For just $1, you adopt a duckie (one of a carefully matched pair). Its twin, or Duckelganger, enters our chaotic head-to-head bracket tournament. Every day, you can vote (freely!) for your favorite in each pairing. If your adopted duckie wins it all? There might just be glory (and prizes) in your future.

 

Honestly? I love this stuff. It’s silly, thematic, interactive, and just the kind of chaos that fits this whole year’s mood.
