Sell your comics to Twilight Comics

Sell Your Comics

Twilight Comics has been helping people sell comic collections in Southern Illinois and the St. Louis metro area since 1993.

Whether you have a few comics, a long box from the closet, an inherited collection, or thousands of books from an estate, this section is designed to help you understand the process before bringing anything to the store.

Start with the topic that best matches your situation, or complete our Selling Your Collection Form when you are ready to tell us what you have.

Before You Decide How to Sell

A comic collection can have more than one possible path.

Some collections make sense to sell directly to a comic shop. Some are better researched one book at a time. Some may be worth grading before selling. Some are mostly reader copies or common comics. Some include sentimental books the family should set aside before discussing the rest.

Our goal with this section is to help you understand the difference.

You are welcome to use these pages whether you eventually contact Twilight Comics, sell somewhere else, keep the collection, donate part of it, or simply want a clearer idea of what you have.

When you are ready for our opinion, the Selling Your Collection Form is the best place to begin.

Need More Than a Quick Overview?

The free pages in this section are designed to help you understand your options before selling, keeping, donating, or researching a comic collection. If you need a more step-by-step sorting process, we are building practical Twilight Comics guides for sellers, heirs, and lapsed collectors.

These guides will not replace an in-person evaluation, and they will not promise that every collection contains hidden treasure. They are meant to help you avoid the most common mistakes: pricing the wrong books, relying on misleading online listings, damaging comics while handling them, or spending hours organizing material that a shop could evaluate more simply with clear photos.

Understand What You Have

Learn the difference between key issues, common comics, older books, condition problems, and collection value.

Understand Your Options

A shop offer is one path. Individual online selling, consignment, grading, donation, or keeping part of the collection may also make sense.

Start With Better Photos

Clear photos are often more useful than a long typed list.

Common Questions About Selling Your Collection

How the Process Works

  1. Complete our Selling Your Collection Form.
  2. Tell us approximately what you have.
  3. Include photos when possible.
  4. We review the information and determine the next step.
  5. If the collection appears to be a good fit, we arrange a time for review.
  6. Potentially significant books are evaluated separately when appropriate.

For large collections, please contact us before bringing everything to the store. Space is limited, and larger evaluations may need to be planned in advance.
