Marvel 616 Day at Twilight Comics
Marvel has decided that June 16 is officially 616 Day; because Earth-616 is the main Marvel Comics universe, and because “6/16” was apparently sitting there waiting to become a holiday.
Is it a real holiday? Not in the “banks are closed and mail doesn’t run” sense.
Is it a good excuse to celebrate Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Doctor Doom, Wolverine, Daredevil, Moon Knight, the Hulk, and the thousands of strange, wonderful, ridiculous, heartfelt, universe-shaking stories Marvel has published over the years?
Absolutely.
For Marvel 616 Day, we’re putting the focus where it belongs: Marvel comics.
Whether you’re a lifelong reader, someone who came in through the movies, someone trying to figure out where to start, or someone who just wants to dig through back issues and graphic novels for something fun, stop in and explore the Marvel Universe with us.
We’ll have Marvel back issues, graphic novels, collected editions, and new releases available; including plenty of ways to jump into the characters and stories that made Marvel such a huge part of comics history.
Marvel is also releasing a limited 616 Day Marvel Mystery Bag featuring a Doctor Doom mask with Jack Kirby artwork and a bagged copy of Doomquest #1. We are only receiving a few copies, so those will be a very small bonus item for the day; not the main event.
The real celebration is the comics.
